The quiz for Chapters 13 and 14 will be on the final.

Know how to identify and diagram the following:

Compound verbs/subjects/objects/etc.
Predicate nominatives/adjectives
Prepositional phrases
Participles and participle phrases

LITERARY TERMS. Be ready to identify the following:
Alliteration
Hyperbole
Metaphor
Onomatopoeia
Personification
Setting

ESSAY. The three main characters from the novels we have read are deeply affected by the settings in which they find themselves. Pick one (Bilbo, Brent, or Esperanza) and explain how the setting influences the development of their character over the entire novel. In 4 paragraphs, create an intelligent thesis and prove your thesis in the three body paragraphs that support your idea. You will not be required to create a conclusion.
